More than any other man in this country, Scalia was responsible for pushing this country into the Dark Ages. His jurisprudential "philosophy" was claimed to be "strick consructionist". As such, I believe, given more time, Scalia would have eventually held the all of the Civil Rights legislation unconstitutional including Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation as overreaching by the Executive Branch. While the the 13th and 14th Amendments may have complicated his regressive Roman Catholic adherance to Aristotle's Natural Law, which held some human beings as inferior; and, therefore, natural slaves, given the chance to fully conform to his strict constructionist to the plain meaning of the words in the Constitution, Scalia would held all Black Americans as no more than 60% human beings, which is memorialized in the Constitution and celebrated as the "Great Compromise". For those who find my assertions speaking poorly of the dead, the logical consequences of Scalia's strict constructionism strongly suggests an originalist's intent to regress back to the verbatim meaning of each word as written by the document's authors in 1793.
Of course, taking Scalia's originalist's interpretation, women's reproductive rights are unconstitutional as is gender discrimination in employment, credit, and no doubt, women's sufferage.
While Scalia systematically dismantled the hard earned civil rights of real breathing human beings, his passionate expansion of those artificial beings birthed by the state showed a maternal side of Scalia bordering on the ferocious protective instincts of a Grisly bear protecting her cubs. Although I have read the Constitution many times, I never noticed even one word granting rights, freedoms, and liberties to a life conceived and birthed by the state. Nevertheless, Scalia's love and admiration of these legal fictions created by the state seemed to have blinded him to his originalist's fidelity to the Constitution, causing him to grant these "corpubines" with gifts ranging from expanded 1st Amendment speech and, in some cases, the right to practice the religion of its choice. Schalia was so taken with these oppressed creatures of the state, that he endowed them with an expanded right to engage in electioneering beyond that of the lesser lives of biological beings.
Scalia did more injury to this country its institutions, and its people than even Bush and Cheney. Of course, Scalia made it possible for those two psychopaths to steal the White House when the Court violated Article I of the Constitution, when he ignored the explicit procedure described when a tie occurs in a Presidential race: Congress votes to break the tie.
While there's no doubt that Scalia possessed a prodigous command over legal reasoning, that reasoning was devoid of the humanistic intent of this great document. The intent was democractic majoritarian rule, adherence to the rights, freedoms, liberties, and equal justice memorialized in the Bill of Rights and the susequent Amendments, and, most importantly the individual right to the pursuit of happiness. I suspect that despite his privileged life, Scalia was not a particularly happy man and his dismantling of the expansive inclusion of those rights moving all of the people closer to a state of happiness was lost in his need for inclusion within the mimisule ranks of the power elites.
The moral of this man's life could be summed up with the following: Power is the refugee for the joyless and unhappy. RIP Justice Scalia.

"Originalism" a pure fabrication of course to suit his twisted ideology. God will be explaining this to him, but no doubt Antonin's confirmation bias will not allow a change of heart . Further lessons will on LYING, DENYING JUSTICE TO THE INNOCENT, BIGOTRY,RACISM etc. God will have a lot on with this excuse for a person. I am sorry for Scalia's family but he know needs to learn some humanity even in death.

A private business does not have to provide contraception. That will not change even with a new Justice. Guaranteed.

Here's hoping increased voting from the left can tip the balance of senators this November. It's so bullshit that one branch can basically hold another hostage. The Supreme Court doesn't decide who holds Senate seats? The President doesn't decide who holds Senate seats. Why does Congress have so much power over the other two branches?
