It could be that Trump wants an FBI director who will prosecute Hillary on her server use.

Greenwald, you made a name for yourself piggy-backing Snowden's work. Since then, you've done absolutely NOTHING. Supporting US relations with Russia is fine if we're talking about a very different approach than the subversive treasonous bullshit we're getting. Fuck you, dipshit.

Russia is currently trying to undermine every democratic country there is and instill doubt in democracy itself. THAT is why we can't get along with Russia. Our ideals are at complete fucking odds. How are you people this slow?

The US deep state doesn't want to risk peace with Russia. It's in their interests to keep the trillions of dollars flowing to the 1% through "defense contracts." And don't forget, the US military is just the armed wing of the US media.

I'm still waiting for someone to define what the "Collusion" is.  Also, Democracy Now!, please tell me you are not falling for the Russian narrative?

    Stop the Russian hysteria now!!!
Trump will need the Russians to bomb the CIA=ISIS Cabal. The Pentagon will never do that.

No way. Laying down on the Russia issue is to say you accept all further corruption from The White House. You have to draw the line somewhere. And I don't get why Greenwalds so calm about Russia considering how many Russian journalists have turned up dead.

It's weird seeing some of these DN liberals sound more hawkish than Reagan era republicans on the question of merely opening dialogue with Russia.

"Russia" = Democratic Birtherism. The reason for the hating on Russia in Washington is because Putin is attempting to restore Russia's sovereignty. Completely intolerable for those the U.S. has a diving right to rule the world without challenge.

Silly. You really believe that this administration gives a fuck about peace? I love Glenn but mark my words he will be doing a piece in a few years about how the administration duped him to sell oil.

Greenwald said it – by accusing Trump with collusion with the Russian state during the elections, Trump has been pushed to prove that he has no sympathy for the Russians. What is implied here is the possibility that the Pentagon and other Empire interests found an easy way to prepare for a war on Russia – they push Trump to become aggressive towards Russia.

So Trump bombs an empty air base they tipped off would be bombed. Yea I'm not at all convinced Trump and Putin had any issue with us burning 80 million on that bombing that didn't even make the base inoperable. Putin acted mad….but I'm not buying it at all.

For God's sake, of course improving relations with hostile nations makes sense but you have to ask, on what grounds is this irregular diplomacy being conducted? It appears to be a conspiracy to cover the planet in Kremlin-funded golf courses…. there are no 'normal' diplomatic relations, there is no State Department and the secretary of state is just an oilman. Who just asked for $54 billion for extra nukes?
Greenwald is an idealist and this site is crawling with bots.
    Sorry.

I respect Glenn Greenwald's body of COURAGEOUS work! I DON'T understand why Glenn would think ANYTHING GOOD WOULD COME OUT OF TWO MURDEROUS MAD MEN JOINING TOGETHER!!!!

Damn Russians! Why did they have to tell us the truth! It's better for "democracy" to not know the DNC screwed over their base..

Trump Towers has been under surveillance by the FBI for decades – not 'ties to Russia', but ties to the mafia. Which strangely the Clintons never mention.

What a total load of left-wing crap. Comey is as corrupt as a three dollar bill, covering up the most corrupt political family (let's not forget the bushes) machinations in American history. Hillary sold 20% of our Uranium to Russian controlled Uranium One. The Podesta group made some 35 million off these Russian connections. Amy Goodman is a Hillary bot trying to convince you that corrupt Hillary lost only because the Russians hacked Hillary, not the crimes exposed in those emails. Whose the lesbian pushing the Snowflake agenda? Kinda of reminds me of Hillary's first love, Yoko-Ono.

Russia isn't THAT powerful. The economy is like the size of Italy, and in a depression.
They do have nukes so do other nations, but America is far more powerful

Can anyone please provide evidence of the Russian government helping Trump get elected? I haven't kept up with this issue in detail and would love to have someone set me straight on it.

My favorite aspect of Russia is they are bombing Syrian civilians to help President Assad in his fight against the "Terrorists", while Israel is sending pharmaceuticals to Russia in exchange for oil because the Russian pharmaceutical industry is so backward.

Greenwald is actually being nice….he could have brought up the fact that what wikileaks exposed was the truth and in a sense just honest reporting. Hillary still shifts the blame and no one discusses the actual corruption in the DNC against Bernie. This is huge! Why don't people talk about this more? I don't care who provided wikileaks the information I am happy that it was exposed…but I just see deflection and platitudes over and over from the Democrats. This Russia baloney is just a distraction tactic and frankly I would rather see more reporting about single payer health care and why the left won't get on board with this overwhelmingly popular issue for U.S. citizens all of us! left center and right!

Don't be so sure that U.S. -Russian relations are at an all time low. I think it's naive to suggest it.

True question is: Is this just a situation created to flood news from more important things in background? If not, it's just bad. It's even reported here in east Europe, which is rare.
